Stevie Adams on
a beautiful thing
An expression of a simple truth.
love love’s to know ya
“That’s a funny one….this song came from a crush I had on my vocal teacher…a great teacher, dancer and choreographer. I had a progression, a little arpeggio on guitar, I sang the Bass line to my Producer (Jamie Bowers) and that got the ball rolling. Jamie fattened it up, expanded it a little, but really we kept it close to its simple beginnings.
Book of Hearts
This was a real collaboration. Jamie called it a singer’s song. Warren (Stanyer) had lots of room to interpret it and just stretched out vocally on this one.
la joie de vivre
A real evolution but still true blue to its melodic foundation. It had a different feel originally and went through a few incarnations before we settled on this arrangement…lots of salvaging and editing.
sunny rio fantasy
This is an ode to hard hats dreaming of a holiday with a little corniness and some fun and flavour of Sunny Rio.
o’ wen
I am glad this one made it onto the project. It’s a solid song and with some great guitar licks. I played the hand drum solo on it.
fill it up
This is a direct influence from Kahill Gibran’s book “The Prophet” and the quest and quenching of the thirst for fulfillment. It’s about being able to hold the cup of joy within and let it overflow!
sweet existence
I once heard it said that “true love is existence”…this gift of life and to be a lover of life is an art worth mastering.
